Declaration on Accessibility

Hotel Belmont und Albarella
Hotel Alpenroyal, Alpenroyal Lodge & Alpenroyal Living

We strive to make our website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act (BaFG), as amended, for the implementation of the European Accessibility Directive (Directive 2019/882) on accessibility requirements.

This declaration on accessibility applies to:

www.hotels-fiss.com
www.belmont.at
www.albarella.at
www.alpenroyal-fiss.at
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2 AA have been followed as far as possible. We continuously work to identify and remove existing barriers.

Non-accessible content
The following content is not accessible for the reasons stated below:

a) Incompatibility with §4 BaFG

1. Perceivability

  • Text alternatives are missing for images, icons, and control elements. (WCAG 1.1.1)
  • Insufficient color contrast for text, graphics, and UI elements. (WCAG 1.4.3)
  • Information conveyed solely through color (e.g., links), excluding users with visual impairments. (WCAG 1.4.1, 1.3.3)
  • Images containing text lack a textual alternative. (WCAG 1.4.5)
  • Text elements are incorrectly or not at all marked with language attributes. (WCAG 3.1.2)
  • Navigation content on hover is not accessible via keyboard. (WCAG 1.4.13)
  • Content requires horizontal scrolling on certain screen sizes. (WCAG 1.3.4)
  • Form fields lack “autocomplete” attributes. (WCAG 1.3.5)

2. Operability

  • Not all elements are accessible via keyboard (e.g., navigation, buttons, accordions). (WCAG 2.1.1)
  • No option to skip content blocks (e.g., missing skip links). (WCAG 2.4.1)
  • Illogical or incorrect focus order when navigating with a keyboard. (WCAG 2.4.3)
  • Focus is not always visible or is obscured. (WCAG 2.4.7, 2.4.11)
  • Control elements are smaller than 24x24 px and difficult to use. (WCAG 2.5.8)
  • No control options for automatically playing content (e.g., videos, animations). (WCAG 2.2.2)
  • Elements with visible text labels do not match the accessible name (limits voice control). (WCAG 2.5.3)

3. Understandability

  • Unclear, redundant, or missing alternative texts, link texts, and title attributes. (WCAG 2.4.4, 3.3.2)
  • Missing or inaccurate labels for forms and control elements. (WCAG 3.3.2)
  • Missing hints or correction options for incorrect form inputs. (WCAG 3.3.1, 3.3.3, 3.3.4)

4. Robustness

  • Names, roles, or states of interactive elements are not programmatically determinable. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • Status messages are not conveyed to assistive technologies. (WCAG 4.1.3)
  • Incorrect ARIA usage: e.g., aria-hidden elements are still focusable. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • iframe elements lack descriptive labels. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • Incomplete logical structure in the DOM and headings. (WCAG 1.3.1, 1.3.2)
  • Missing detailed sitemap pages, limiting navigation. (WCAG 2.4.5, "Various Methods")

5. Technical and organizational notes

  • Third-party plugins are not fully accessible.
  • Features like contrast mode or text enlargement are available but not implemented in a standard-compliant accessible way.
  • The heading structure appears visually correct but is not consistently technically identifiable.

Non-compliances with accessibility requirements are reviewed regularly to ensure that all requirements are met as far as possible. We place great importance on making continuous improvements and implementing necessary adjustments promptly to ensure accessible use.

b) Disproportionate burden (§18 BaFG)
We believe the following changes would represent a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations:

  • Embedded videos are hosted on the YouTube platform. For some of these videos, neither transcripts nor content descriptions are currently available.
  • Some embedded videos lack audio descriptions. Full adaptation is not within our control.
  • The online booking tool cannot currently be offered in a fully accessible format. We are in close contact with the providers to achieve improvements.

c) Content not within the scope of applicable legal provisions
This particularly concerns:

  • The website contains older documents and content that are not accessible. As these were published before 28/06/2025, they are exempt from the Accessibility Act, and no comprehensive changes are currently planned.
  • The website includes documents and content from third parties that were neither developed, funded, nor controlled by us. For these third-party contents (e.g., online maps and mapping services, external tools, external content such as social media feeds, etc.), we cannot make any statements regarding compliance with accessibility regulations, and they are therefore also exempt from the requirements of the Accessibility Act.

Creation of the Declaration on Accessibility
This declaration was created on 12/06/2025 and is available at all times via a dedicated, clearly visible menu item ("Declaration on Accessibility") on the website.

The assessment of the website's compliance with the Accessibility Act was carried out in the form of a self-assessment in accordance with Level AA of the WCAG 2.2 guidelines.

Our website is continuously optimized. Usability and accessibility are a high priority for us. Identified barriers are gradually removed wherever possible. The declaration on accessibility is regularly reviewed and updated promptly in the event of changes to accessibility requirements or technical specifications.
